It all began back in 2002 when my father, a retired mechanic, was selling an old car engine on eBay. I watched as the bids went up and up, with it being sold for thousands of pounds to a bidder from Japan!
‘Wow!’ I thought, and set off to find unique gifts and unusual items to replicate his success. I ended up at places I wouldn’t usually go to, even a book fair! I found books that were hundreds of years old and sold them on the auction site making a profit.
My full time job at this time was for a High End Luxury Goods company, and I noticed that many of the products they had couldn’t be sold at their full retail value. Perhaps they were a returned item or had a minor imperfection, or had been personalised.
The items were still incredibly good quality, and I realised that selling these together with providing excellent customer service would benefit my employer.
I started selling these items on eBay for them, and from a small beginning the sales became extremely popular.
Since that time I have been involved with ecommerce, and now have launched Chenners.com to capitalise on my unique concept of selling luxury items and affordable prices.
I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and Chenners.com is the embodiment of that passion!
‘Chenners’ in case you haven’t guessed is derived from my surname.
This unusual name is of French origin, and was introduced into England after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The name is derived from the Old French word “chesne”, meaning “oak (tree)”.
Maybe the French link has fed my need for gorgeous things in my life? The love of shopping is definitely one of my vices! I hope you share my passion and check out my listings on eBay and make a bid or two. 😉
So there we go! Please check out my Twitter, Facebook and Pintrest Pages. And please contact me anytime, I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
And remember if you’re looking for ‘Affordable Luxury – Chenners.com’ is the place to look!
